How Highlighter Pens Are Made
Highlighter pens were invented in the 1960s as a way to grab a reader's attention. Today, highlighters are made with tinted plastic pellets that are melted into pen molds. Once assembled, a machine has the pens draw 700 to 1000 circles to make sure the batch works properly.
